Homestay

Living with a local family, couple or single person can be a good way to familiarise yourself with your new environment. For international students, it's a further opportunity to practise your English language skills and learn about the Australian lifestyle. Some students choose homestay just for their first four weeks in Adelaide and look for long term accommodation during this time. Others prefer homestay for the long term.

Normally, your own furnished room and meals are provided. Electricity, water and gas are included, too. Costs are $195 - $310 per week, as well as the placement fee.

Apply to Australian Homestay Network. To increase your chances of a match with a suitable host, remember to apply at least six weeks before your arrival in Adelaide.

Note: Student visa holders under 18 years of age, please refer to the Under 18 - Acceptance and Accommodation Form for your Homestay and Homeaway options.
