Why am I getting a Device Security message on my Android device?

You are receiving this message because your device does not currently meet UniSA mobile device security policies.

In order to access your staff email on your Android device you will need to follow the below:

NOTE: Screenshots used below are from a Samsung Galaxy mobile. There may be some differences to your Android device depending on the make and model.

You will be prompted with the following if you try to connect to UniSA staff email without having a PIN or Password set on your Android device.

  1. Select Update to continue with a PIN or Password setup
  2. Select Activate on the Device administrator pop-up
    NOTE: The University enforces a PIN or Password for Android devices as well as other mobile devices that connect to staff email.  The University does not enforce other mobile policies to your device.
    This is the standard for all Android devices whether or not you connect to UniSA staff email.

  3. You can now set a PIN or Password for your device.
