Governor’s Leadership Foundation Program

Nominations are now closed for the 2024 program

Great leadership is the cornerstone of our success at UniSA and enables an enterprising culture that builds high performance and delivery of our E25 ambitions.  As part of our continuing commitment to the growth and development of our leaders, UniSA will provide sponsorship for two UniSA staff members to be part of the 2024 GLF cohort.

The GLF program is a unique and challenging ten-month program, providing an experiential development opportunity that aims to enhance and accelerate leadership capability for established and emerging leaders in their field who demonstrate the potential to become outstanding leaders.

Eligibility

To be eligible for consideration, nominees should be academic staff at level D or E, or professional staff at HEO9 and above. The anticipated participants will be in leadership roles or be responsible for people and resources across functions to ensure the full learning experience can be applied.

Program Commitments

The program is prestigious and well regarded but is also intensive so you will need to be prepared to commit, and your supervisor prepared to allow a significant amount of time to complete the program. This will include weekend workshops, overnight retreats and out of session activity.

The full schedule of dates can be found on the GLF program home page.

Nomination Process

Nominations may come from a supervisor or other senior staff member but must include a statement from the relevant area manager that they support the time release required. The program cost will be funded centrally as part of our leadership development initiative.

Information Sessions

For interested potential GLF participants, the Leaders Institute of South Australia will be hosting information sessions in September for those who would like to understand more about the program and hear from GLF alumni.

Please visit the GLF program home page to confirm a place in your preferred session.

Testimonials from GLF Alumni

UniSA has a long history supporting the GLF, and has sponsored 32 leaders since 2001 to participate in the program.

Professor Siobhan Banks,
Research Professor in UniSA Justice & Society was sponsored by UniSA in 2020 GLF cohort and reflected:

My GLF journey was all about perspectives—
changing my viewpoint and trying to look at challenges,
locally and globally, through different lenses.
This year has been one of deep thinking, reflection and friendship.
